The Grant Process The Irene W. and Guy L. Anderson Children's Foundation makes grant money available to any non-profit group or organization in the Coachella Valley whose purpose is meeting the unmet needs of the youth of the Coachella Valley. These grants award up to $50,000 per group or organization and are awarded on merit and according to the guidelines set forth in the grant application. The funding cycle is from July to June. Grant applications will be reviewed and chosen by a 7 member non-partisan committee representing, as best as possible, the geographic areas and ethnic diversities of the Coachella Valley. There will be a maximum of $50,000 per grant awarded. Grants for lesser amounts are also encouraged as project originality and diversity will be considered. As the charter for the Anderson Children's Foundation calls for moneys to be used to meet the unmet needs of Coachella Valley youth, emphasis will be placed on programming which focuses on those needs. It is the intention of the Anderson Children's Foundation to make similar grant moneys available on an annual basis. Through annual review and re-application, projects may be considered beyond first year funding. For any information regarding these grants please contact Rita Grazdan at Anderson Children's Foundation at 760-318-8146 or fax 760-318-8155. Steps to apply for a grant: 1. Come up an idea for a project that will have an impact on the needs of the children and youth of the Coachella Valley, taking into consideration the cultural, ethnic, socio-economic and geographic differences that exist here. Your project should demonstrate how it will continue to function once funding ceases. 2. Contact Anderson Children's Foundation for an application which can be mailed to you or downloaded from our web site (you will be instructed how to download an online copy at the time of your request). 3. Keeping a simple and clear approach, write up your project explaining the benefits to the children you are reaching, and a budget for the project. Do not be excessive in your description of the project - just be concise. 4. Make (8) copies of your application and mail them to Anderson Children's Foundation. |
