The Irene W. and
Guy L Anderson Children’s Foundation made grant money available to non-profit groups
and organizations in the Coachella Valley whose purpose is meeting the unmet
needs of the youth of the Coachella Valley.
Grant
applications were reviewed and chosen by a 7 member non-partisan committee
representing, as best as possible, the geographic areas and ethnic diversities
of the Coachella Valley. Project originality and diversity was considered for a
maximum of $50,000.00 and grants for lesser amounts. Emphasis was placed on
programming which focused on the unmet needs of Coachella Youths.
There
were a total of 153 applicants requesting Grants from the Anderson Children’s
Foundation this year. A total amount of
funding requested through the process was over $5 million. Out of these,
39 were selected totaling $$902,043.00 to be distributed.
